She found her calling when she joined Habitat 8 years ago as an Americorps VISTA during a mid-life crisis. She spends her spare time on her own personal mission trip climbing the Altai mountains in Siberia.

Colin Mackey currently serves as an Americorps VISTA, developing the repairs program at Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area. A Hoosier by birth, a midwesterner by choice, graduated from The University of Notre Dame in his living room in spring of 2020. He has spent summers doing long-term service, first as an Americorps summer-VISTA addressing food security in rural Utah, then at his local homeless shelter, helping homeless families, veterans, and individuals get back on their feet. Goals include serving in Peace Corps Mongolia, and to make Morgan visit from Siberia.
