Last year HFH Northwoods turned their in-person fundraiser into a virtual live auction on Facebook. The even raised $17,000 and required far less time and fewer people to plan and put together.

Dave Havel
Dave Havel has been the Executive Director for the Northwoods Wisconsin affiliate since June of 2019. His background includes many years in the banking industry, doing mortgage lending for over 20 years. Dave has served numerous non-profits in the Rhinelander area for years, assisting with a variety of fundraising events that almost always involve some kind of live auction. This year was the affiliate's first time doing a Facebook online auction. It will now become an annual event.

Meg Sprecksel
Meg Sprecksel became known throughout the Northwoods of WI for creating the Facebook group, Northwoods Small Biz Bids. This group raised over $22,000 for local small businesses that were forced to close during the Safer at Home order of 2020. Since then, Meg has worked with various nonprofits to duplicate this success, most recently Habitat for Humanity Northwoods. In addition to running successful auctions on Facebook, Meg is the President of the Oneida County Fair Committee, 2020 recipient of Community Volunteer of the Year, and 2020 recipient of the first Hometown Hero award.
